- Check the power supply:
- Check the condition of the fuses in the electrical control panel.
- What is the general status of the power supply to your unit? Are all other devices receiving power?
Check the Circuit Breaker:
- Check the function of the residual current device. Is it switched on?
- Check the residual current device using the test switch/button directly on the residual current device.
- Check whether there is a separate residual current device for night-time power. If so, follow the same procedure as described above.
- How is your boiler connected— to daytime power or night-time power? What time period are you in? Is there any power at all when connecting to the power supply?
- Check the circuit breaker and ensure no fuses have blown.
- Additionally confirm whether there’s a separate switch for the boiler, and make sure it’s turned on.
- Use a voltmeter to test if power is reaching the boiler, or check that it’s plugged into a working outlet.
- Inspect the boiler’s own switch, if it has one, and verify it’s switched on.
- Check the thermostat setting. Is the current temperature high enough to meet your hot water needs?
Check the water heating supply to your boiler:
- Is your apartment/house/property currently supplied with water? Is water leaking from other taps?
Preferably check taps near the boiler. - Is the main shutoff valve turned on, and is there proper flow?
- Also is there a separate shut-off valve for the boiler (in the basement, stairwell, riser, bathroom, etc.)?
- Is it turned on, and does it have proper drainage?
